CMC Expands Management Team
Capital Markets Cooperative Expands Management to Drive Secondary Marketing Profits to its Members
Key Roles Designated to Bring Secondary Economies of Scale and Expertise to Mortgage Bankers
Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. – May 20, 2007 – Capital Markets Cooperative (CMC), the leading provider of expertise and economies of scale in the secondary market, has added two key leadership positions. These leaders drive the company’s mission of bringing secondary market advantages to quality mortgage bankers. The senior management roles include Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of National Accounts.
“We invested in these industry experts to make sure our capital markets services are the best imaginable. The current down-cycle market requires the very best from secondary marketing, and it has ignited enormous demand for our secondary services and cooperative economies of scale. These CMC executives are ready to facilitate that demand,” says CMC president and founder Tom Millon. “Increasing demand for CMC services warranted the expansion, but it was also a calculated business milestone we fully anticipated – it just happened much sooner than expected.”
The role of Chief Operating Officer was awarded to Kent Saari, a capital markets professional with more than 20 years of mortgage banking experience. He was chosen in large part for his technology skills and his tenure in managing large secondary marketing departments within regulatory environments. He specializes in mortgage interest rate risk management, delivery optimization, mortgage pipeline management and warehouse management. Saari most recently managed capital markets for Waterfield Mortgage, one of the country’s largest bank-owned originators.
As new Senior Vice President of National Accounts for CMC, Mike Cook has also spent many years in the secondary market, and has experience in all mortgage-related activities, including underwriting, pricing, hedging, delivery, servicing and agency sales. Cook has held senior positions at Washington Mutual Bank, Tuttle & Company, American Savings Bank and Fannie Mae, where among his many achievements, he managed Fannie Mae’s relationship with Countrywide.
